2012 EVENTS Arizona Centennial
The territory of Arizona officially became the 48th
State on February 14, 1912. Beginning in 2012, American
Musical Salute will host a concert series commemorating
the 100th Anniversary of the “Grand Canyon State.”
We would like to invite you and your performing ensemble
to consider an invitation to join us in the Great State
of Arizona, as part of this historic anniversary.
The American Musical Salute to Arizona has received the
“Official Centennial Event” designation from the Arizona
Centennial 2012 Foundation. “The Arizona Centennial
commemoration promises to be a year of celebration,
reflection, and newfound discovery of Arizona’s most
important cultural and historical treasures. American
Musical Salute to Arizona is a perfect event to have
associated with the centennial and we look forward to
working with you in the coming months and years.”
In honor of this 100th year celebration, we will feature
100 performing groups throughout the year, beginning in
February 2012. Outstanding ensembles from across the
country will be invited to attend.
Participants in this concert will have the opportunity
to tour and perform at some of the state’s most historic
an iconic venues, including Tucson’s Mission San Xavier
del Bac, The State Capitol, and The Grand Canyon.
